At Dave, I led a comprehensive redesign of the Advances product, transforming it into Extra Cash, by reimagining both infrastructure and user experience. This initiative focused on ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing financial accessibility through AI-powered underwriting, and creating a seamless, integrated experience across Dave's product ecosystem. The work was achieved through close collaboration with executive leadership, including CEO, Banking, Legal, and Compliance teams.

I was also the design lead for other core features of the app, including Side Hustle, Homepage, and App Infrastructure.

Side Hustle

Side Hustle is a feature that allows Dave Banking customers to earn extra cash by applying for a variety of gig, seasonal, part time, and otherwise flexible job arrangements. Previously, Dave had direct partnerships with companies like Instacart, Grubhub, and Uber, but the feature was not scalable. After the redesign, Side Hustle was able to provide more job variety to users leading 40% more applications and more cash in their pockets.

Homepage

Along with another lead designer, we explored a new vision for the Dave app onboarding and homepage. This vision was meant to unify the Dave Banking, Budgeting, Saving, and Extra Cash experiences to feel like a single, cohesive product experience that grows with the user.
